I wanted to update, but I currently have no access to an SD card reader or a USB camera cable. So I thought I’d post a weird food picture. In this case Spam Onigiri.

It sorta makes when you read the history of the light pink stuff.  Spam is weirdly popular in loadsa asian countries, as well as Hawaii and other pacific islands due to it’s legacy dating back to World War 2. Fresh meat was rare so the general populace loaded up on the surplus of Spam that was given to the GIs (who described it as “meatloaf without basic training”). This combined with it’s long life and ease of storage made it a firm (if slightly gelatinous) favourite. So people combined it with thier local cuisine, bish bash bosh: Spam Onigiri.

Last time I tried it, it looked (and tasted like dog food), but different strokes for different folks I guess.

Anyways, photos of snacks from the Philipeans, Thailand and my trip to a really nice Dim Sum resturant are on the way, as soon as I get the photos online. Sees ya laters.
