PC died again -_-
Couldn’t be bothered to troubleshoot anymore, just took it down the computer place.
Anyways, in between my GTA4 sessions and learning subset construction I’m gonna throw all my creations onto Flickr.
Check it out.

Yeah, haven’t updated in a while. The wrote the Bento post ages ago and forgot to publish -_-
Anyways, haven’t wrote any new posts mainly because I’ve been revising, but the fact I’ve got no cool food pictures because I’m currently eating whatever’s in my fridge whilst I’ve been revising, like so:
So yeah, they’re all over May 27th which is cool. Plus, I’m deffo going to Hong Kong from the 12 June – 1 July which is gonna be pretty fun =D
Back to revision, least the weathers nice.

Nothing like a bit of a resturant break after a revision lecture.
Mmmm, now this was seriously good. Bit of everything: Rice, Beef with onions in Teriyaki sauce, Prawn Tempura, Sushi Rolls and Strawberries & melon. Mmmm.
I realised that Tokyo Diner aint so great in terms of variety. Still cheap and good for central London, but there’s a very nice Japanese place near H’s called Poppy Hana. Much better and cheaper Bento for cheap-ass students like us =D
My hard drive died. Bad sectors apparently, which means my new gaming PC is lying, electronic guts everywhere hard-driveless. Makes me sad. And I lost all my photos I hadn’t back up yet. So, all of you waiting with baited breath for pictures of the Dim Sum resturant and my array of asian snacks (Thanks P and K BTW for those =D) then I am very sorry.
It’s kinda a good thing, since my exams are in literally a week. I’m an idiot and also bought GTA4 also when he should be revising. Back in London now, and I left both behind so I can’t distract myself.
But, have been playing some epic Scrabble games with Ms S =D
Note my gamebreaker: Sura. Got lucky with that one
su·ra (sʊr’ə)
n. Islam.
Any of the 114 chapters or sections of the Koran.
Ok, better get back to revision now. Laters.
If it couldn’t get any geekier than when I was staying up late to watch Starcraft matches on GOMTV, now I’m watching WoW PvP videos. The KSWISS: The Named tournament has finally gone live. The fact it’s sponsored by KSwiss makes it all the more awesome, rather strange demographic to go after maybe? But hey, we’ll roll with it.
The really annoying thing is the whole baditude thing that they seem to be going for. All the cheesy rock music and slow-mo shots of the characters. It’s a World of Warcraft video guys, nobody is buying it.
I miss Tasteless (aka Nick Plott) commentary though, the guy commenting the PvP vids (David Kim) is just so quiet. Tasteless was just so OTT in the Starcraft vids that it made it funny.
God, I’m talking about the finer points of video game tournaments, I’m such a nerd >_<
I wanted to update, but I currently have no access to an SD card reader or a USB camera cable. So I thought I’d post a weird food picture. In this case Spam Onigiri.
It sorta makes when you read the history of the light pink stuff. Spam is weirdly popular in loadsa asian countries, as well as Hawaii and other pacific islands due to it’s legacy dating back to World War 2. Fresh meat was rare so the general populace loaded up on the surplus of Spam that was given to the GIs (who described it as “meatloaf without basic training”). This combined with it’s long life and ease of storage made it a firm (if slightly gelatinous) favourite. So people combined it with thier local cuisine, bish bash bosh: Spam Onigiri.
Last time I tried it, it looked (and tasted like dog food), but different strokes for different folks I guess.
Anyways, photos of snacks from the Philipeans, Thailand and my trip to a really nice Dim Sum resturant are on the way, as soon as I get the photos online. Sees ya laters.
I always thought building PCs was hard. But it aint
The only real hard bit was screwing the motherboard in and when I kept getting power problems with my new graphics card (Plugging the power cable into it, who’d thought? =P )

Here’s to more TF2 and maybe some Company of Heroes now my PC can run it =]
Yeah, me and Ms. S were playing around with some Polymer clay. We made geeky things.

She’s being playing some TF2 a bit recently, she’s actually getting pretty good at being a medic :3
Wish I had a better gaming PC though =(
Anyone who loves importing or er…certain homebrew applications has probably had a chance to play Taiko no Tatsujin DS. It’s a really neat little Rhythm-Music game, with an insanely cute drum that you can dress up in mohicans and cat outfits.
Anyways, the sequel Taiko no Tatsujin: 7-tsu no Shima no Daibouken (Taiko Drum Master: 7 Islands’ Adventure) looks pretty interesting and they’ve added some cool little extras like bosses and extra types of drum. Pretty neat really/
Anyways, I can’t wait to play crazy J-Pop and Japanese folk songs. And have my arse kicked in multiplayer by R and K (who both have done KAGEKIYO on Oni, which is a little tough =P)
Capcom’s released some videos and is releasing a beta to stress test the net-code (which is a nice touch if you’ve ever tried to play XBLA Street Fighter, which is laggy as hell). After watching them I’m not sure what to think.
See what I mean? The game just seems a little off. I spose the problem is that putting new sprites on an old game is a little like painting over rust. Well, that’s a bit harsh, but it just makes the old animation seem so dated and obvious. And I know it makes sense, to redraw the animation would take years, break the core mechanics of the game and all the crazy frame-counting SF2 guys would be all annoyed.
Meh, but at this stage in the game I just want to be able to play Street Fighter online, get owned by Tiger Punch spamming Sagat and actually use my 360 Hori stick on my 360, rather than MAME. Whether I’ll spend 800 points to get into the beta, I dunno.
I don’t know why I find it so compelling, but I’m addicted to watching Starcraft matches on GOMTV.
Starcraft is so insanely popular in Korea. I just love the surreality of it all, there were girls crying in the audience when Boxer (aka. Lim Yo-Hwan, aka SlayerS_`BoxeR`) lost his first barracks in some vid I saw. Just shows the difference between cultures in entertainment.
If you want to share in the viewing, click here. It even has surprisingly good English narration. It occasionally borders on annoying I’ve heard worse.
Look’s frickin amazing. Nice to see not everyone has given up on 2D fighters. As much as I’m looking forward to Street Fighter 4, I still think 2D fighters work better.
That could just be because I’m a Third Strike Fanboy =D
A fantastic little place in London’s China Town.
Food is pretty cheap (it’s in the Times Top Ten Value Resturants), service is free (the whole Japanese tipping thing) and food is served in the blink of an eye. Most I’ve ever waited has been 15 minutes, and the place was packed at the time.
